What is the Love Fund?
The Love Fund is a donation-based scholarship program designed to promote equity in the arts. Those who would like to receive a high quality education in the arts, but cannot afford training may apply for assistance that will be funded through this program. Currently, scholarships are awarded in the amount of up to $350.
Who can receive a Love Fund Scholarship?
Families with children aged 18 and under may apply.
How can I use a Love Fund Scholarship?
Love Fund Scholarships can be used toward the fee of any StageWorks educational programming. This includes, but is not limited to classes, workshops, summer camps, and show participation fees.
Where can I use a Love Fund Scholarship?
Love Fund Scholarships can be used toward the feeof any StageWorks educational programming. This includes, but is not limited to classes, workshops, summer camps, and show participation fees. Please note: While scholarships may be used toward show participation fees, receiving a Love Fund Scholarship does not guarantee casting in any StageWorks show.
Do Love Fund Scholarships expire?
Yes. Scholarships expire on the submission deadline for the following semester's application.
What happens if I don't use the full balance of my scholarship?
If you do not use the full balance of your scholarship, the remainder of that balance will be returned to the Love Fund so that it may be used to continue the arts education of future recipients.
Can I use my scholarship for multiple programs?
Yes. Your scholarship can be divided and used for multiple programs, so long as the balance of your scholarship is used by your semester's expiration date.
Can I use my scholarship to pay a friend's tuition?
No. Scholarships, once issued, are non-transferable.
How will I know if I've received a Love Fund Scholarship?
After applying for a scholarship, you will be notified via email whether or not you have received the scholarship. Specific notification dates for each semester can be found on the main Love Fund information page.
What if I don't receive a Love Fund Scholarship?
If you do not receive a scholarship for a certain semester, you are welcome to apply again for a future semester. Scholarships are awarded based on funds available, so applying in a future semester will give you additional opportunities to receive assistance.
How many times can I receive a Love Fund Scholarship?
You may receive a Love Fund Scholarship once every "season". In each season, there are three semesters of scholarships awarded: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Those receiving a scholarship in one of these semesters cannot be awarded the scholarship for the other two. For example, those receiving the Fall Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Spring or Summer scholarships.
How many scholarships are issued?
The amount of scholarships issued varies per semester based on available funds and number of applications.
What if I receive a scholarship but no longer want or need it?
Upon receipt of your scholarship, you may notify StageWorks that you no longer wish to use your scholarship. The scholarship balance will be returned to the Love Fund for other scholarship recipients. If you have not used any of the scholarship money, you will again be eligible for other semesters of Love Fund Scholarship issuance.
