We support the use of music as a therapeutic tool.  Music therapy is the clinical use of music to accomplish individualized goals such as reducing stress, improving mood and self-expression. It is an evidence-based therapy well-established in the health community. Music therapy experiences can include listening, singing, playing instruments, performing in a drum circle or composing music.  Music therapy is utilized in group settings to help students meet physical, emotional, social, and cognitive goals. Board certified music therapists can work in private groups, rehearsals, and in one-on-one sessions to help students and actors thrive and use music to discuss thoughts, feelings and ideas that the music elicits.
